Christian Based Business

When it comes to running a Christian based business, there are several options.

People may assume that the only way to run a religious business is to have it revolve around the church.

There is a negative image associated with a lot of businesses, based on how people in those businesses have previously been labeled.  Examples are sales businesses and legal services. Lawyers have always had the reputation of being somewhat shady and greedy. Likewise, sales people (especially in the car business) have also gained a bad image.  christian-based-business

The good news is that businesses (including these) CAN be run, while still maintaining a clean, religious image.   Christian business owners can overcome these stereotypes with a minimal amount of effort.  Ironically, many of these businesses would be ideal for a religious based business.

Here is some food for thought though.  Lets take a look at two other industries free of stereotype) to see how you can apply Christian principles to them.

Coffee House

A coffee house could be an excellent Christian based business. It would allow people to meet up with their friends from church and discuss current events. They could display religious pictures and have magazines and books centered around religious events. The coffee house could also play Christian music for the customers to enjoy, while drinking their coffee or tea. This business could also promote themselves with a great amount of ease. Surely the church that the owner attends would be willing to accept coffee or doughnut donations for Sunday school classes.

Radio Station
This option will take a great amount of technical knowledge and a little more money. They have a lot of licensing and contracts involved to gain the rights to play the music. The business will also need to pay monthly or yearly fees to services who provide the music for them to play. This business would be completely centered around religion, as people always have a positive image of radio stations that only play religious music.

So you see, not all Christian business involve a direct reference to your religion and regardless of the stereotype of the business that you are in, you can apply Christian based principles to your Christian business.

The takeaway here is that you can make just about any business a Christian business.
